Would you like to volunteer?

“Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in”-Author unknown. At the Grayson County Shelter, we rely on compassionate human beings such as yourself. Our volunteers are the staple of this organization, providing us with essential services that makes a difference in the lives of our residents. At the Shelter, there are many ways an individual can make an impact, such as:

  • Assisting our thrift store, the Crowded Closet
  • Preparing Meals
  • Preparing "Free to the Public" Bags of Hygiene Products
  • Office/Clerical
  • Gardening & Yard Work
  • Stocking & Organizing the Pantries
  • Planning Fundraisers
  • Making Calls
  • Playing Games
  • Babysitting Children
  • Grocery Shopping

We're looking for enthusiasm, dedication and a commitment to our cause in each of our volunteers. If you have any questions, or need help in setting up your organization Volunteer Plan, please contact Mikayla Stocks our Volunteer Coordinator/Case Worker. She will be happy to help you with your project!
